Happy half-birthday to my little man!

The past few days I have been trying to get some 6 month portraits of Grey to no avail. He has given me a steady diet of fussiness, spitting, yelling and angry faces each time. Therefore I was so excited to get some decent ones tonight!
Happy six months little man! My wove you sooo much (from Skylar).

My little philosopher.
He is so curious about everything now! It's almost impossible for him to nurse for a full meal nowadays because he is so nosy. Drives me nuts some days!
And the drool. It's like a faucet.

Aww. This is just sweetness. You would never imagine that she would then turn around and try to sit on his head. The next shot I got was of her little blue panties landing on his head.
LOVE those baby blues!
Now, here is a good one!

Grey is able to sit up unassisted for a little while now. Although he's not perfect every time. He still hates tummytime though, so although he can roll over (I have seen this with my own eyes) he will never do it because he doesn't have any desire to be on his tummy. Which is totally fine with me. I'm happy with him being immobile.

His next favorite thing to do lately is blow raspberries. Sometimes assisted by putting his fingers in his mouth. His favorite times for this are while nursing and eating solids... You can sense my frustration can't you?
LOVE baby feet.

This summer has been awesome. We have spent lots of time at the waterpark with my Mom and Grandmother. Both Skylar and Grey are total water babies. They have no fear and would spend everyday all day in the water. They will both go "under water". Grey will dunk his head in the water if you put him on his stomach; and Skylar will bounce up and down and count to three and then put her face in. She will even walk across the pool with her face down in the water! She never evens opens her mouth or breathes in the water!

This shot makes me laugh.
My cool man chillin' with his glasses and hat. He gets pretty upset if you don't put his glasses on and will let you know. Have I mentioned that he has found his lungs so to speak?
Sorry for the picture quality here. Not sure why he is glowing while my mom is normal... but here is a pic of him in the water. If you put him on his tummy he will kick his legs and flap his arms a mile a minute!
Back at the house, he has really started enjoying his jumperoo. Probably because he can now reach both arms out to grab stuff and he had reach the floor with his feet so he can jump.
And it helps that Skylar loves to play peek-a-boo with him while he jumps away.

Jennifer + Dwayne = Maternity

The other day I traveled to Graham, NC to shoot some maternity portraits for Jennifer, who is the sister of Leanna, if you remember her from a few weeks ago, and is also preggo! Jennifer and Dwayne are having a little boy named Zachary, due in about 7 weeks. Bless both her and Leanna's hearts for their summer babies! Jennifer and Dwayne were so cute together and are going to make wonderful parents. Little baby Zach is one lucky dude.

I think this is my favorite one. I love the outline of sunlight on Jennifer; how it highlights her baby bump.

Jennifer and Dwayne live in an adorable country-style house that I loved. And their front porch was a-mazing! It was like my dream porch, complete with this little swing here in one corner.

This one here is more of an out-take... but I loved Dwayne's expression. The entire time I was there Jennifer kept asking if he could feel little Zachary moving around and grabbing his hands to put them where he could feel little kicks. This was one of those times and I guess he could really feel it!
Such a cute belly!
I love the flare in these next two!

I love the contrast between Jennifer's fair skin and Dwayne's darker skin. Wonder what baby Zach will look like?

Dwayne is a pretty big colts fan.. could ya tell? He already has little Zack decked out. Jennifer however is not. We'll see who wins the war!
The nursery. Pooh theme. An all-time classic fav.

See the porch in the background!?! And the blue shutters on white paint? Love it!

Doesn't she have a perfectly round baby belly?
Jennifer and Dwayne, thanks for letting me come out... can't wait for little Zack to arrive!

In 0.5 seconds...

Last weekend we started Grey on solid foods. He totally doesn't "get it". It being how to swallow food, use his tongue to push it back into his mouth, keep his lips closed, etc. Although he loves the attention he gets while in his chair, as seen here:
(p.s. take note of the abundance of food at the front of his mouth... yep, that will all be on the bib soon enough. Fun times!)

He quickly gives me one of these faces:

And then very shortly after, gives me this:
All in about half a second. Yes, those are real tears!

When he is not going through the sequence above, he also loves to just yell at me for making him endure the torture of eating food. He has quite the set of lungs on him...

I made some baby sweet potatoes, squash and peaches today... hopefully he will like these better! Sorry for the poor picture quality... its not that easy trying to catch him on camera while he is simultaneously yelling at me, crying, spitting food all over the place and trying not to let Skylar steal the food. And yes, I mean spitting- he has already learned to blow raspberries with food in his mouth when he is particularly upset.

Fun Fourth!

This year we started out Saturday morning with an early parade. Skylar and Ken got to ride on a float for Jamestown, so Grey and I went to cheer them on. Too bad we didn't plan better, b/c we happened to be on opposite sides of the street and this is what I got: if you look closely you can see them in the corner of the red car.
So, not being satisfied with that, I took off running down the crowded sidewalk with Grey in stroller to catch up with them. Notice the guy beside Ken? I believe he thought I was running to catch up with him... I got quite a few funny faces from him.
That evening we ate dinner with my Mom and Granny and then went to see the fireworks. Skylar was excited to be look for lightning bugs and actually caught one in her hands! (With help from Mom...)

And Grey was just excited to have someone talking to him. Poor neglected second child.

And here is a cutie to leave you with!
